Pewnie znów ogromna ilośc graczy uzna mnie za lamera pierwszej wody, ale co mi tam.... :D. Otrzymałem dzisiaj maila od autora przedstawianej kiedyś przez mnie mapy Burning Reminders . Przypominam, że chodziło o dość dobrze dopracowaną mapkę, przeznaczoną do dużych rozgrywek TDM. We wspomnianym wcześniej mailu, autor informuje, że poprawił kilka bugów, zmienił niektóre brushe i poprawił pliki aas. Całość została zoptymalizowana raz jeszce, co zaowocowało zmniejszeniem rozmiarów mapy o około 2Mb. Wstępnie pozwoliłem sobie osobiście przetestować to cudo i musze przyznać, że jestem pełen podziwu dla wersji 1.1.
Panowie PROplayerzy - testujcie i wstawiajcie komentarze w jezyku angielskim, jako pierwszy serwis na świecie dostaliśmy tą mapkę do testów, i w związku z tym autor zamierza do nas często zaglądać, aby zebrać opinie. Sam LVL dostanie ta mapkę dopiero za kilka dni do recenzji.

i tu błąd gogi - te fpsy to tylko wina mojego kompa, mapka chodzi jak złoto na "normalnym"sprzęcie, chciałem dopisac sprawę fpsów na screenach w newsie ale jakoś się zreflektowałem

I co z botami sobie pogram? Czas cos zrobic z tym, niektore mapki sa swietne, ale co z tego skoro na serwach sa standardowe + ect? Zrobcie jakas akcje - 1 mapka na miech wiecej na serwach;p mapperzy gogogo;p

I ja też się dopiszę. Mapka genialna, miodna, po prostu rewela! Już dawno nie widziałem czegoś takiego. A co do grywalności to się nie wypowiem bo jeszcze nie grałem - tylko obejrzałem. Wersja 1.1 oczywiście lepsza.

hmm, mi sie mapa nie podoba bo:
1- znalazlem przejscie do bfg :d sux bfg
2- za duza jest, tzn za wysoka, a co za tym idzie fpsy spadaja
zrob mniejsza i do teamplay dobra ;]
a tak btw na MiB sa: 6+ 7+ itp... :p

Cos sie ludzie nie kwapia, zeby pisac po angielsku. Mateo, lepiej zbierz potem te wszystkie wypowiedzi i wyslij autorowi opinie ogolu po ang. ;P
IMHO bardzo fajna mapka, FPSow wcale nie zjada jak to widac na screenach. Bardzo grywalna. Tylko to BFG nie pasuje. Radzilbym autorowi sie go pozbyc jak najszybciej i zamienic na cos innego. ;] Moze ktos wpakuje te mapke na serwery i bedzie mozna pograc na necie.

fajna mapka, tylko to bfg...rozmiarami przypomina mapy z ra3 - mysle ze niezla propozycja dla serwerow ca - czekam na serwery, ktore ja zamieszcza w loopie.

Właśnie rozmawiałem z Mr.Lake - uprzejmie prosił o posty w angielskim, bowiem nie możne znaleźć żadnego programu tłumaczącego z polskiego na angielski - a więc miśki, słowniki i do pracy - postować prosze po angielsku, inne posty będą usuwane, o ile Raziu da mi tą możliwość :D
So untill now, polish players have one big comment for this map - remove BFG, ane replace it with something else, maybe Battle Suit? But it does not make sense - when someone takes quad, in order to get to secret area (with BFG actually) and then he takes BS, he is nearly unbeatalbe. Maybe there is another proposal in the crowd? Maybe it can be RG or MegaHealth? I think that MH is quite good idea, because after the jump with quad, player looses lots of health, and MH could recover that, what do You think about it?
EDIT: założyłem mu u nas konto, zobaczymy czy się wypowie na naszym serwisie, requiem i szakalko - jakby co skierowałem go też do was

Leave the BFG as it is, it doesn't hurt promode :) Or maybe make it an invis and make an itemset with the old placement.

Elo, my first thougts: map is really big and in first secounds i got lost :P, "underground" is really cool and "room" with regenaration is very impressive :-D (good job), i was searching and searching but without any effects and i didn't find BFG :P but it is one reason (but not only one) which encourage me to return to this map to find it :-D, i am sure that you (author :D) have "vasted" a lot of time on this map but be prepared that it won't be accepted by many players because they are acustomed to play only on one map (pro-q3dm6 - "jednomapowcy = onemapplayers" ?? :D) but inspite of this RESPECT for U :-D and your stamina :-0 :-D
Mateo: it is true that maps without roofs reduce FPS and the same situation is in this case :( but not in all map (thanks "god" :)), i saw some decrease in FPS in "room" with RA, maybe it is caused by textures used in this area (efects are here ...:)) but decrease is even on my super machine :P,
despite this map is good and it will be exelent in RA3 (without items - it doesn't mean that map with it is bad but magnitude of this map is good idea even for CA servers)

Well done !!! This is a quite good job. I must say that i have seen many maps of this kind but Burning has an extra points fo almost perfect details. Good luck next time, and I waiting for more :)

what can i say... this is great temple ... but without god. it is really visually impressive but i can't say i find it playable. one bot match is enought for me. honestly it is not funny running around without any gun and seeking other players :/
major thing in q3 maps is playability not visual effects. in my opinion this map can be good only for ffa.
you'd better start thinking about next map :)

To address the BFG issue: I really wanted to add some strategic decission making to the game. Getting the BFG only by quad-rocket-jump means that you have to weigh out your priorities.
A person can waste a minimum of 9 seconds if they go straight for the BFG and do not collect ammo or health. If you collect these items as fast a possible and then exit the room, you still only have roughly 10 seconds of quad left...not much to considderably tip the scales. It all comes down to either using the quad for what it is worth in a battle, or sacrificing it to gain a better weapon.
Plus, the person returning with the bfg will always spawn from the teleporter across from the quad-pedistal. It is easy to camp from either of the side-arches, and although the upperground gives the bfg an advantage the space is wide-open for people sniping with the RG from the rear tunnels.
The best way for a person to really gain from the bfg is collect all the health and ammo, and once back in the arena to dodge down one of the side tunnels on the lower floor or to take the teleporter back to the RL bridge and attempt to camp from there.

I have put serious thought into modifying the map for RA3. I mentioned on the LvL website "Burning Revisited"...which has been something I've been toying with for a while. I'm sure it would be a welcome addition to the mod. I think it would be simple enough to create a number of 1 vs. 1 arena to accompany it. (Note to self...they no too much already!) Ahem...anyway, We'll see in a couple months.

CPMA...aside from Green Armor...I think the map would do well with Pro-Mode. Although the map is way too big for a 1 vs. 1 tourney, the balance should be there. Let me know how it turns out.

Lake - quite interesting calculations regarding decision making proces of taking BFG or not. Frankly speaking, with one RA and two YA on the map, rail is probably more powerful weapon than BFG. I am pretty sure that during real TDM match, noone will decide to take that weapon, if he has much more less quad time to "spend" :D, which is quite important during TDM.
Some comments regarding RA3 or CA use of the map are understanable, the size of the map determines big TDM matches (5v5, or even 6v6?), but with such a big teams, it seems to me that we have not enough armor on the map.
I am very interesting how it will work on servers, does anyone tries to put them in the loop somewhere?
